About me.

Hi, my name is Adam Williams and I am the founder of ‘Adam J Design’. This is my own little corner in the ever expanding World Wide Web. In here you will find my creative ways of thinking on all subjects of design, ranging from, but not limited to; print design, logo design, web design, branding, typography, advertising & more.

I am self-employed as a graphic designer, specializing in the fields of corporate identity, logo design, web design, print design and branding with the majority of my time spent designing and implementing creative designs for businesses such as logos, websites, letterhead, business cards, advertisements, poster design, trade show booth design, packaging and more.

In 1998, I decided it was time to go after a dream of doing something that I loved to do… be creative. I attended Ivy Tech State College, in Columbus, Indiana, and I received my degree in Visual Communications. It was on from there! The design industry has its ups and downs, but that is what has helped me to become the kind of designer I am. I put a lot of time into each project to get the maximum results that my clients are looking for. I have learned a great deal about many different industries having worked for clients in all parts of the global market place. I started my career in 2001 with CNHI Media in which I won a nationally published design contest in remembrance of 9/11 and designed my first magazine from cover to cover (even the page numbering system was cool). I moved from there to Visual Communications in 2004 working with clients such as St. Elmo's Steak House, The Stutz Company and other local Indy companies. In 2005 I started to concentrate on Adam J Design full time but got interrupted with an opportunity with Anacore, Inc. as their Art Director. With Anacore, I designed print campaigns for Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Indy Ducati as well as graphic work for some web-based applications. In 2008 I moved over to dgs Marketing Engineers as their Art Director. A marketing firm that deals primarily in the machining industry and I designed for international companies like Mazak and Agie Charmilles. In 2009 I was given a chance to work with Scott A. Jones and ChaCha. No, it wasn't doing any dancing, but working on their national sales campaigns as the Senior Designer, being in charge of the brand guidelines and coming up with ways/designs to help get the word out about ChaCha, Search, inc. As of June 2010, I’ve gone back to freelancing under my own business, Adam J Design.

My life is design and I love it. I surround myself in it every day. I can no longer read a magazine or book. I have to see what fonts they used, how the layout is set up, make sure the graphics are color corrected, the leading and kerning is set right, that there are no orphans, that it is visualy captivating and interesting. Yes, it is a problem, but one that I am willing to deal with. I absolutely love what I do, I want to learn, I think critically and creatively and I have the right attitude.

I am:

1. Passionate

2. Enthusiastic

3. Sceptical

4. Focused

I also love soccer and music. I coach U12 and U17 boys soccer at a local select soccer club. My love of music has also brought me a love for concert posters. I have been trying to get my foot in the door of some bands to do some of their tour posters and I think I may have a toe in right now. Look out world, here I come.
